Welcome to The Year in Film
Introduction
Hi. My name is Jim McManus. I see a lot of movies. I comment on a lot of movies. And armed with that info and a crowbar, you can pry me from the general populace. Most people, even critics, won't compare Titanic to "The Love Boat: The Next Wave", nor call Martin Lawrence and Tim Allen the Lennon-McCartney of thumbs down. Fewer still would stop to consider appropriate professions for Memento's Leonard: Rodeo Clown? Toll booth attendant?
I see more bad movies than anybody you can name. I also go on for pages about films which probably weren't that bad, but I hated anyway, like Gosford Park and The Passion of the Christ. I put everything worth reading in an annual document called "The Year in Film". Piqued? Read on.
